Jamari Rodriguez also known as Artist Jamari, is a self-taught Contemporary Artist currently living in Las Vegas, Nevada. She has been painting and experimenting with art her entire life. She is from a multi-cultural family, but was mainly raised in Native American communities throughout Washington State. She grew up participating in ceremonies and sacred traditions. Through these practices, she learned to be aware and connected to the divine non-physical world all around us. In 2002 she suddenly began losing her eyesight, and was diagnosed with a debilitating neurological disorder. She was facing complete blindness. Jamari's strong spiritual connection guided her to a full recovery within a few years.
Being confronted with a massive life change, she faced the impermanence of life at a young age. Upon fully recovering, she pledged to live her life to the fullest. This promise brought her to Belize, Central America, where she live for 7 years. The simple way of life nurtured her creativity, and her spirit found a voice.
Jamari has maintained a creative practice throughout her life. No matter what environment she's found herself in, she will discover ways to express her creativity. She has shown her work in Belize, Washington State, and Las Vegas. She has been a painting instructor at 2 Las Vegas Studios, and well as with Clark County Public Arts. She is constantly creating and making new pieces and work. She has done small murals, and is consistently live painting and showing work at Las Vegas events.
